The solemn celebration will take place on July 28, 2018, in the Metropolia center of the UOC-USA on the day of remembrance of the Holy and Equal to the Apostles Prince Volodymyr. “As we prepare for this great celebration and recall our ancestors from Ukraine and the United States, we call upon every Ukrainian Orthodox Christian to join all celebrations, share our great joy with our friends and relatives,” the message reads. As reported, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA was formed from Ukrainians who arrived in the United States, fleeing from the calamities that befell their homeland in the Russian Empire, and then the USSR. For a long time, the canonical status of the UOC in the United States was uncertain. Finally, in 1995, the Church entered the jurisdiction of the Constantinople Patriarchate. (Quelle:, 28.
